About

Who we are

RAD is an LGBTQIA+ non-profit bringing together international mindfulness practitioners in the tradition of Engaged Buddhism, as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village community.

Our mission is to uplift LGBTQIA+ voices and experiences, bridging the gap between queerness and mindfulness practice. We work to raise awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues within Buddhist communities while also making Buddhist teachings more accessible in LGBTQIA+ spaces. Additionally, we strive to remove financial and social barriers that prevent LGBTQIA+ individuals – especially those facing multiple forms of discrimination – from accessing retreats and mindfulness practice.

Rooted in the understanding of interbeing, we seek to collaborate with LGBTQIA+ communities across diverse traditions, whether spiritual, religious, or secular.
